3 Tons Of Platinum and Gold Bars Fall From Siberian Plane During Takeoff

Platinum and Gold bar falls from the Nimbus Airlines AN-12 cargo plane during its takeoff from the Yakutsk Airport on March 15.  Spilling nearly 200 gold and platinum bars weighing a total of about 3.4 tons.

According to transport police spokesman, there were 172 gold bars scattered across the runaway. Fortunately, nobody was hit or injured by the falling 44-pound bars.
