Three Chinese women are said in the report who had swollen faces and bandages around head were stuck at an airport in South Korea on their return flight because they looked too different from their passport pictures.
They flew all the way from China to South Korea to undergo plastic surgery but their day turned into a nightmare when they were stopped from flying home, according to reports on Chinese-language media.
According to Apple Daily, the photo was said to be taken at one unnamed airport in South Korea during China’s National Day holiday. The trio had taken the advantage of the ‘Golden Week’ and traveled to neighboring South Korea to undergo plastic surgery.
This was posted by Jian Huahua, a Chinese news anchor, on her social media on October 8 but removed it afterward on her account. On the contrary, ‘The Beijing Things Beijingers Don’t Know’ known to be a popular account managed to re-post it on Weibo.
On the post stated that three women had been not allowed from leaving the airport because of their identities confirmation. It was also stated that they were among the throngs of Chinese tourists who had gone to South Korea for plastic surgery during the eight-day national holiday.
The post went viral and the talk over social media which gathered 66,740 ‘likes’, shared almost 30,000 times and received 37,860 comments.
The incident remains unclear when and if the women were allowed to return to China.
